Meet Ramblin’ Randy: author, filmmaker, entrepreneur, radio personality, food critic, world traveler. Also a guy who hates to write in third person, so let’s switch this up.
I can’t believe I didn’t start traveling until I was 26 years old…if only I would’ve known! I missed so many years. But it’s never too late to start.
By day I am a radio DJ and program director. I work on the air and manage two awesome radio stations in the beautiful city of San Diego, California. By night I host and produce a syndicated love songs and dedications show called Slow Jams and Sunday Night Slow Jams.
I’m the definition of a workaholic: seven days a week; from the time I get up until I lay my head down at night. But I play just as hard as I work.
I manage to finagle as many vacation days as my company allows, and I use almost every single one to travel the world. My mission is to see every country on earth. I try and pack in as many countries as possible on each trip. My record was ten countries in nine days.
My favorite country (after my own) is Brasil. Brasil was my first international trip (outside of Mexico) and changed my life forever. In 2009 I ended up leaving everything behind and moving to Brasil. It was an incredible experience.
I speak Português. Like a five year old, but whatever.
I love tacos.
I still own my very first car. It’s a 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. It’s a lowrider and goes up and down.
My favorite music is 90s R&B (especially Slow Jams), early 90’s Hip-Hop, and Bossa Nova (Brasilian Jazz). What really gets me going is Electro-Bossa (classic Brasilian Bossa Nova infused with smooth Electronica).
Did I mention I love to travel?
